Avistar Releases Avistar C3 Software Editions for Both Microsoft and Citrix Platforms

Company officials said it is working with its channel and network partners to make desktop video conferencing as ubiquitous and easy as using the telephone. The Avistar C3 (News - Alert) Solution is designed to anticipate and intelligently deal with network anomalies, computing demands and peripheral complexities all while providing the industry’s best visual communication experience to the user.
And now the newly released Avistar C3 Unified, Microsoft (News - Alert) OCS Edition can offer commercial grade desktop videoconferencing and also critical video features not found in the Microsoft OCS solutions. The new Avistar C3 Integrator, Citrix Edition is designed specifically to run on the Citrix ICA protocol allowing Avistar clients to benefit from the operational and environmental savings provided by Citrix solutions, while experiencing a feature-rich, scalable and manageable desktop videoconferencing experience on the Citrix platform.
Avistar has explained that their Microsoft OCS edition extends the Microsoft OCS and delivers a desktop visual communications experience that is vibrant, feature-rich and interoperable. The solution is designed to blend with the unified communication features found within Microsoft OCS and make use of client’s existing video conferencing infrastructure and networks to offer business class desktop video conferencing.
Avistar’s Citrix edition is designed to operate and leverage the Citrix ICA protocol and by its ability to separate media and application processing, it can deliver scalable and manageable desktop visual communications within VDI environments.
According to Chris Lauwers (News - Alert), chief technology officer at Avistar, when combined, the Avistar C3 Unified – Microsoft OCS Edition and Avistar C3 Integrator – Citrix Edition solutions deliver a desktop visual communications experience with a level of quality unmatched in their industry, while delivering unprecedented value to their clients.
Avistar added that their Avistar C3 solutions provides patent-protected dynamic bandwidth management that enables users to experience brilliant call quality, without experiencing the degradation of service typically found in other desktop videoconferencing solutions.
Citrix recently demoed Avistar C3 Media engine and ESCO distributed Avistar C3 desktop videoconferencing solution in Asia.
