Westcon Group Unveils Global Avaya Solutions Handbook

Westcon Group, a specialty distributor in networking, convergence, security and mobility, has announced the launch of the first global “Avaya Solutions Handbook."

The 268-page desk reference guide, which is available as an ebook, is designed to help Westcon’s Avaya-oriented customers build and grow their businesses, the company said. The handbook, which is available to customers participating in Westcon’s ConvergencePoint (News - Alert) program, contains information about Avaya’s product lines, as well as a variety of complementary solutions. It also includes an extensive assessment of the voice/convergence market conducted by research firm Current Analysis.

In addition, the handbook contains sections for partners to learn more about Avaya’s DevConnect program, as well as its unified communications, contact center solutions and small and medium enterprise communications solutions. It also includes an overview of Westcon’s ConvergencePoint solutions program.

Westcon has begun shipping the handbook, the first one of its kind, the company said. Readers can check out an expert of the handbook here.

Duncan Potter (News - Alert), chief marketing officer of Westcon Group, pictured below, said the resource is a must-own for resellers who require Avaya solutions.

“As convergence technologies continue to rapidly evolve—especially in areas like unified communications—so do the correlating opportunities,” Potter said in a statement. “Our global Avaya Solutions Handbook was produced so our customers can stay ahead of these technologies and help end-users solve some of the enormous business challenges they face today.”

Westcon is a specialty distributor in networking, security, mobility and convergence for technology vendors including Cisco, Nortel, Avaya and Polycom. As part of its Westcon, Comstor and Voda One (News - Alert) business practices, Westcon sells products and services to resellers, systems integrators and service providers.

Jeremy Butt, vice president-worldwide channels, Avaya, said the new handbook is beneficial to both Westcon and Avaya customers.

“Business partners can access market analysis, positioning information and detailed product specifications for products around the world, as well as learn about the valuable resources contained inside Westcon’s ConvergencePoint program,” Butt said in a statement.

Westcon began producing global solution handbooks in 2000. Since then, it has published more than a dozen editions across its different business practices. Earlier this year, TMC (News - Alert) reported that Westcon released the second global edition of its “Network Convergence (News - Alert) Solutions Handbook.” The firm released its first edition in May 2008.
