Avistar Communications Inks Technology Agreement with Logitech


Avistar Communications Corporation, a provider of unified visual communications solutions, has entered into a technology agreement with Logitech (News - Alert) to integrate its technology with Logitech’s video communications services and also to extend Avistar intellectual property licensing to Logitech.

 
Logitech is a company that specializes in personal peripherals, driving innovation in PC navigation, Internet communications, digital music, home-entertainment control, gaming and wireless devices. The company’s products are distributed in more than 100 countries worldwide through retail channels and through its strategic partnerships with PC manufacturers. Logitech has sales offices in major cities in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
 
Following deals last year with IBM and LifeSize (News - Alert) Communications, Avistar has inked this deal with Logitech in order to expand the reach of its technology.
 
 “Logitech designs products to enhance the consumer’s experience with video communications. It has a global presence in more than 100 countries. This agreement will help increase the rate at which Avistar technology is adopted globally while creating what we feel will be an important partnership for the industry,” said Simon Moss (News - Alert), chief technology officer at Avistar.
 
“This latest agreement is continued validation of Avistar’s technology licensing strategy and the value of Avistar technology brings to large Unified Communications (News - Alert) firms in this growing and continuingly valuable marketplace.”
 
Avistar's installations reportedly include more than 100,000 committed desktop seats worldwide. The company works with leading channel partners and resellers in more than 40 countries. Its latest product, C3 (News - Alert) desktop videoconferencing solution is stated to deliver a single-click desktop or room-based videoconferencing and collaboration experience that gives a totally new approach to business communications.
