AVST Demos Updated CallXpress UC Platform
Orange County, Calif. based Applied Voice & Speech Technologies (AVST) recently showcased its flagship Unified Communications (News - Alert) platform, CallXpress 8.
CallXpress 8 delivers UC applications including advanced call processing, voicemail, unified messaging, personal assistant, fax, speech and notification.
All these capabilities help colleges and universities become mobile and productive. AVST (News - Alert) is a Corporate Affiliate of ACUTA. AVST officials said that the company has been acknowledged for its support by the Association for Communications Technology Professionals in Higher Education, at regional and national events over the last four years.
ACUTA is an international nonprofit educational association that serves colleges and universities. It represents about 2,000 individuals at 825 institutions of higher education with members ranging from small schools and community colleges to the 50 largest U.S. institutions. The main purpose of ACUTA is to support higher education institutions in achieving optimal use of communications technologies.
Officials said that universities are continuously seeking solutions to enrich student-to-faculty communications, and at same time preserve their communications infrastructure. They claimed that over 800 educational institutions have selected CallXpress to stay mobile, increase productivity and improve their overall communications.
“AVST is committed to the higher education marketplace and looks forward to this industry conference every year,” said Denny Michael (News - Alert), vice president of marketing at AVST.
He said that company’s solution is a natural fit for the ACUTA audience, making this the “perfect” place to co-strategize while providing attendees with a forum to share information and actively participate in the development of AVST's future offerings.
AVST is a developer of communications solutions. The company’s flagship unified communications platform, CallXpress, offers interoperability and enables organizations to protect and extend its existing data and telephony infrastructure investment.
The CallXpress product – long a favorite of companies worldwide, including law firms in the UK, got a shot in the arm recently from TMC President Rich Tehrani (News - Alert).
Tehrani said he recently met with AVST’s Tom Minifie, Chief Technology Officer, and Denny Michael, Vice President of Marketing, to talk about Version 8.0.
“The entire architecture of the product has been improved allowing multisite organizations to centralize servers or distribute them with higher levels of availability,” he writes. “And this is crucial for a company which provides the backbone for the communications of companies worldwide.”
In March, AVST entered into a partnership agreement with Unimax (News - Alert) Systems Corporation. AVST is leveraging Unimax’s flagship product, 2nd Nature, to provide administrators with an interface for single point of administration to manage CallXpress, their PBXs and other critical business systems.
