AVST and Mirapoint Form Strategic Alliance to Deliver Unified Messaging Solutions

Applied Voice & Speech Technologies (AVST (News - Alert)) and Mirapoint have announced a strategic partnership to address the growing demand for scalable and secure unified messaging solutions.

Mirapoint (News - Alert) Software is a provider of appliance-based solutions for message networks in enterprise, service provider, and education organizations, and AVST is a developer of communications solutions for businesses of all sizes.

As per this marketing and technology alliance, the companies will integrate AVST’s CALLXPRESS Unified Communications (News - Alert) platform with Mirapoint’s Message Server, to provide a cost-effective unified messaging platform.

Companies’ officials said that through this alliance, Mirapoint will provide AVST's unified messaging solution to its new and existing customers, while AVST will market Mirapoint's e-mail solution to customers looking for an alternative to their legacy e-mail platforms.

AVST's flagship product, CallXpress, delivers an extensive telephony and groupware interoperability available. Officials explained that CallXpress is designed to help customers deploy next generation communications capabilities such as unified messaging, across a heterogeneous and transitioning technology infrastructure.

Mirapoint's Message Server is an appliance-based secure messaging solution that provides e-mail access, routing, storage, archiving and rich collaboration.

Officials said that Mirapoint delivers integrated messaging solutions that “enhance communication” by eliminating messaging threats, fragmented infrastructures, poor performance and network attacks.

Hardy Myers, president & CEO at AVST, said “We have taken great care to develop a product line that is optimized for the education sector and we're pleased to partner with Mirapoint.”

He also said that this partnership is a direct response to an expressed need by mutual customers for unified messaging solutions that interoperate seamlessly and leverage an existing communications infrastructure.

“Mirapoint shares our vision for collaboration, efficiency and security in enterprise communications,” added Myers.

“Not only do we share a common vision in our technology approach, but the vertical markets that we serve are also complementary,” stated Jeff Witous, CEO at Mirapoint, adding that higher education, healthcare, insurance, financial services and government are all high priorities for Mirapoint and AVST.
