Wipro and Microsoft Expand Strategic Alliance
Wipro Technologies and Microsoft (News - Alert) have expanded their strategic alliance and opened two state-of-the-art Wipro Centers of Excellence to showcase Microsoft technologies at Wipro’s facilities in Bangalore and Mysore, India
Through these centers, the companies aim to provide customers with an informative and interactive experience where they can envision and evaluate specific business and industry-based scenario solutions. Both Wipro (News - Alert) Technologies and Microsoft have made multi-million-dollar investments for customer engagement, in sales, marketing, and service resources.
According to the companies, the Wipro centers of excellence will focus on solutions and services on Windows Vista and Microsoft Unified Communications (News - Alert). Various business communication tools will be integrated into a single, enterprise-wide solution across multiple devices for e-mail, calendaring, voice and telephony, presence, instant messaging, and SMS.
Stephen Elop, president, Microsoft Business Division, said this strategic alliance will enable their customers to take full advantage of Microsoft’s technologies along with Wipro’s unique approach to business systems implementation. He believes the combination of Microsoft Unified Communications software and Wipro’s industry solutions is expected to change way companies communicate with their customers and within their own organizations.
Suresh Vaswani, president, Global IT service lines, Wipro Technologies, added that this alliance will help them achieve this by enhancing their core competencies in global delivery and development of new tools, methodologies, and processes. Their early and deep access to Microsoft’s technology portfolio will also enable them to deliver transformational services and solutions on next generation architectures.
Wipro also intends to cover new geographies with Microsoft in the Middle East, including United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, while also accelerating growth in existing markets like North America, Europe, and India.
N. Natarajan, CIO of Aztecsoft, said that the strategy to make their people more productive across its organization with Microsoft technologies has been very successful. Microsoft & Wipro’s approach in delivering value on all aspects of licensing, consultation, execution, and support is well appreciated, and Aztecsoft believes that partnerships of such nature will help organizations adapt to technology faster and better.
Natarajan added that his company has successfully implemented the initial phase of Windows Vista and Microsoft’s Unified Communications in the organization and it has met their initial business objectives quite satisfactorily.
