U4EA Technologies' Fusion 200 Certified by Siemens Enterprise Communications

U4EA (News - Alert) Technologies, a provider of integrated access technology for converged communications, today announced that its Fusion 200 has been certified by Siemens Enterprise Communications (News - Alert) for interoperability with Siemens’ HiPath 8000 V3.1 IP-based SIP softswitch and subsequent use by Telefonica.

U4EA’s Multi-Service Business Gateways (MSBGs) are designed to combine the functions of a SIP session controller, router, switch, firewall, IDS, VoIP gateway, QoS and OA&M into a single device for the delivery of converged VoIP, data, and video communications, according to Ken Epps (News - Alert), CEO of U4EA.

"We are excited to be working with Siemens on behalf of Telefonica to achieve certification with the HiPath 8000," said Ken Epps, CEO of U4EA.

The HiPath 8000 V3.1 is a native SIP real-time IP system designed to provide enterprises with a robust service creation and delivery infrastructure. The system is scalable from just a few hundred to as many as 100,000 users per single system, and a virtually unlimited number of users in a large network, the HiPath 8000 V3.1 can be deployed and managed as a typical enterprise solution or as a hosted service managed by either the customer, a managed service provider (MSP), or by Siemens (News - Alert).  Siemens has certified the Fusion 200 for use in Telefonica installations with the HiPath 8000.

"Siemens is focused on delivering superior solutions for next generation networks and is committed to ensuring the HiPath 8000 works flawlessly with devices like our Fusion Series gateways to deliver SIP-based real-time services such as VoIP, video, multimedia and collaboration. This certification ensures Telefonica that the Fusion 200 and HiPath 8000 can deliver an optimized SIP-based solution.”

U4EA's Fusion Series was developed specifically for SIP-based next generation networks carrying multiple types of real time applications co-existing with data and other streaming IP media. These total one box solutions deliver high-performance QoS, IP security (IPSec), and Firewall/Network Address Translation (FW/NAT) for secure, wire-speed performance and reliable multi-service support in today's converged networks.

The Fusion Series is supported by U4EA's patented quality of service technology, GoS (Guarantee of Service), which guarantees service quality for applications of multiple media types – such as voice, data, video, and collaboration – all accessible through a single fixed or wireless access link or WAN pipe.
